Publications
Design and Publications Management

As the Public Relations Specialist at Rutgers University–New Brunswick's career services office, I was responsible for designing, updating, printing, and ordering the department's 37 print publications every semester, as well as keeping our two office locations constantly stocked.

While in this role, I launched an audit of our print publication program to figure out what publications were actually serving the department. I determined that the staff only found a handful of the publications to be helpful, and many of the documents contained redundant, incorrect, or out-dated information. Moreover, the documents did not have a consistent visual brand.

Thus, I proposed to the department's Senior Director that we should overhaul the print publication program, reducing our number of offerings from 37 to nine. In addition, I re-designed each document so they had a consistent, clean, and professional look.

This proposal was later implemented, significantly reducing production costs and increasing the accuracy of the information contained in the publications.
